Heidi Chou Funding for Summer Language Learning

Thanks to the generosity of Stanford alumna Heidi Chou, the Heidi Chou Fund (HCF) for East Asian Languages and Cultures has been established to support summer Chinese language studies for undergraduate students considering to declare major or minor in East Asian Studies and/or East Asian Studies, China Subplan. Preference will be given to declared majors and minors.

APPLICATION MATERIALS: Please apply via email and include your plan of study, a statement of interest (note the program(s) of interest, and your application status), budget, two references, and an unofficial transcript to Cyril Millendez (Assistant Director of Student Services). The application should be 2-3 pages in length.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted starting the first day of winter quarter and will be due by March 1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and funding will be disbursed to awardees upon submission of confirmation of acceptance and travel bookings.

NOTE REGARDING TRAVEL: Per the current Stanford University Travel Policy, all individuals regardless of vaccination status are required to comply with campus access restrictions and testing requirements of Stanford University and the host institution of the desired abroad or overseas language program.
