For the fourth session of the 2022-23 East Asian Humanities Workshop, we have invited a group of professors who have tremendous experience in teaching East Asian Studies in university settings and beyond. They will guide us to think about approaches to and challenges in teaching and offer valuable advice to graduate students. 

Our speakers are: 

Professor Indra Levy is an Associate Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Senior Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford.  

Professor Jean Oi is the William Haas Professor of Chinese Politics and Senior Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford.  

Professor Matthew Sommer is the Bowman Family Professor of History and, by courtesy, of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford.  

Professor Dafna Zur is an Associate Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and, by courtesy, of Comparative Literature at Stanford.

Professor Ariel Stilerman is an Assistant Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford.
