Korean Writer Han Kang wins the Man Booker Prize along with translator Deborah Smith

South Korean author Han Kang accepts the Man Booker International prize for fiction for her novel The Vegetarian, an unsettling story of a woman’s decision to stop eating meat and its devastating consequences. Han beat literary stars including elusive Italian author Elena Ferrante and Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk to the £50,000 (US$72,000) prize, awarded at a ceremony in London on Monday.
