Date
Fri February 24th 2017, 12:00pm
Location
Knight Bldg, Rm 201

You are cordially invited to a Q & A on careers for EALC majors and minors, with our very own Clay Garner, on Friday, February 24 (12:00-1:00). Currently a senior majoring in East Asian Studies, Clay has had an amazing range of experiences and accomplishments.

From 2010 to the present, he has appeared on major TV stations in China and Taiwan to audiences of tens of millions, as cast member, assistant host, and recording artist. He was named one of Sina Weibo’s “Top 30 Most Popular Internet Stars” of 2012. Last summer he was a Product Marketing Manager Intern at Google, and he received a return offer for full-time employment. Since October 2016, he has been a Research Assistant for Stanford’s US-Asia Security Initiative, working with Ambassador Karl Eikenberry, former US Ambassador to Afghanistan. Last but definitely not the least exciting, he has won a Schwarzman Scholarship and will be studying for a Master’s degree in Global Affairs in Beijing starting this fall.

If you have ever wondered what you can do with an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies, and how you can find and create opportunities in a world full of challenges and unknowns, come to speak with Clay! He will share his experiences and answer your questions. Lunch will be served during the event, so please RSVP here by Thursday, Feb 23!
